Hey everyone, I've tried to order Gimme Ted the DVD of the Benefit Concert from a record store, but the thing is they can't get it in, because the supplier needs more orders so they can reprint it.

Can you guys please help me out, maybe if you order it too, they can do a reprint. And I can finally give Mum her late late late Christmas Present.

PLEASE ORDER IT!!! =)

Thank you, I hope I can get as far away as I can, I hate the cold.
Yeah in the book it does say that Les is in the bath, haha
TMG should have came to Guyra and play in the community Hall, it's only tiny.

Hey Dave thanks for that, I now know where that was, I think it's a hairdresser or something. Sam's Warehouse shut it's doors years ago, and now Bing Lee's in there. From the outside the old theatre looks beautiful, but my mum told me it was a piece of Sh..... crap. =)
But yea I loved your story, it was very intersesting and when I showed my mum she was amazed.

Wow! how exciting. Did you get Les's autograph? As far as I know Les Hall now works at TAFE somewhere in Newcastle teaching music production. I think he works with Grant Walmsley (ex Screaming Jets) I remember the small skit from Club Buggery. You can see some of them on Youtube :) The skit was called "Ian" Ian was played by Paul Sironen (ex Tigers footy player) there were heaps of other people in the show including Ted as the next door neighbour who loved fishing. Col Joye was Ian's dad. It was hilarious. Here is a link of the footage played at Ted's memorial recently. You will see a photo of Ted with HG & Roy in the slide show. The clip runs for approx 10-15 mins. You will love it! It seems TMG members are talented in more areas than one! Let's start a campaign to have them inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame! I think it is about time.

I know Les worked as a sales rep for Hunter Valley Bakery in East Maitland in the late 80's /early 90's as I owned one of the bread runs--don't think he liked being there a 4am occasionally though !
Does anyone remember Ted appearing as 'Bob the fisherman' on the ABC show
on Friday nights 'Club Buggery' hosted by Roy & HG.His 'wife' was Lisa Forrest
I think.

Les also wrote that his eating habits were somewhat restricted. He said just in case he turns up for dinner one night (that would have been every girl's dream) to give him steak with a salad comprised of almost totally lettuce and tomato. He also said that his other favourite was savoury mince! He wrote that he never ate eggs, milk, chicken, fish! I wonder if Les's limited diet changed as he got older? You need strong bones to strum a guitar for hours on end :) There are some excellent photographs of the band as well as individual photographs in the book. Anyone who has a copy.... hold on to it with both hands! It is a national treasure. All we need to do now is to wait for TMG to be put into the Australian Rock Hall of Fame.

I was lucky enough to have seen TMG play in Wagga Wagga (NSW) back in the 70's. They visited there earlier with Sherbet as support act, however, returned at the main attraction later on with Rabbit as their support act. It was an amazing night. I remember being in the care of my sister who was 16 (I was 12) and following her and her freinds to the back lane of the picture theatre where they were playing. All of the girls were calling out and finally.... Les Hall appeared for a brief moment. He was dressed in black and man oh man... was he handsome! I fell in love with him in an instant as young as I was! I never got to see them again, but always watched them on Countdown and waited for the cameras to go to Les!!!! This year I went to Ted's Memorial service (along with my copy of the TMG Book) in the hope to see Les Hall one more time. That was not meant to be, however, Herman Kovacs was there and he was more than happy to sign my book :) great memories and music that will last a lifetime.

The shop that they walked into is long gone. There was an old second hand record shop on the corner the Galloping grape bistro above that and the shop was a fish n chip shop next door.I just checked google earth and the shop is long gone replaced by "Garducci"its in Beardy street across from the Mandarin chinese restaurant.Even the movie theatre is not there now.Its called sam's warehouse. The place has changed a bit since those days. Thanks for your interest in my adventure.

Guyra is one hell of a cold place.I came from Uralla and would have been at that concert in 1976.TMG supported Sherbet one show and came back with Rabbit supporting them.TMG bought rocknroll to little halls and pubs that had no entertainment at all.I have that TMG book, somewhere.I remember les hall was doing the interview in the bath! I thought that was decadent.I wish i did have a time machine as well. The seventies were'nt such a bad place to grow up in.We all had so much to look forward to. I hope you make it out of Guyra you seem too intelligent to survive that place.
