Bandanna – Boogie Down Under
Boogie Down Under was a single released by Sydney band Bandanna back in 1988. I had the pleasure of doing sound for them from 1985 to 1987 and then again from 1989 through to the end of the band in about 1990.
This version of the band featured original members Larry McMillan and Rick Doolan along with Steve Edmonds on guitar and Bob Montgomery on bass and vocals.
Larry and Bob eventually left to form “Grog ‘n Grumble” which played a similar style of blues/boogie/rock.
This single reminds me of ZZ Top’s “disco” period, like Sharp Dressed Man or Legs. It probably isn’t typical Bandanna fare, but great nonetheless. I hope you enjoy it.

Hi, does anyone know if Bob Montgomery is still around? Cheers
I haven’t heard from him for a few years but last I heard he was on the Central Coast. 🙂
Hey Mark,
I was around then, went to school with Larry.
Is he still about I wonder.
Last I heard of Larry he had moved down the South Coast somewhere. Maybe Berry/Nowra?
Hi
Larry is living in Gerringong on the South Coast
There’s only two Gunter’s worth a damn: Gunter Grass who wrote, ‘The Tin Drum’ and Gunter Frowich (incorrectly spelled no doubt) of Ashcroft High. Which one are you?

I played with Bob in ?1970 for a short time with a drummer called Chris and I think they were ex Elliot Gordon Union. He was a great player back then and I’d like to get in touch with him and talk over old times.
