Saw Mandrake at Star City a few years back after coming out from Deep Purple, Mandrake put on a great set, including some Purple numbers, they ripped for a 3-piece in a pub, and they took in a lot of spillover fans from the Purple concert the same night. Very impressed, we bought their CD & a T-shirt. Go Mandrake 🙂 PS My teenage son then got into Mandrake !
Don’t know about this. I use to see Mandrake when they had Steve Pettaras
on Drums. They rocked.. What energy from this guy who belted his drums as if each skin was talking back to him and needed to be put in there place
What great memories. I saw mandrake with Harry (the now drummer) when
Steve left the band , and I must say he does not come close to the showmanship of Steve
Memorable gig’s were the first “Boys are back in town” gigs of the late Ninities
of the original greek boys.
Hey, how’s you all going, sorry web & I missed the last gig at woywoy! Will definitely try to come to the next one, keep us updated! As for that other guy who doesn’t think harry is that great, well I think Harry is a brilliant bummer, you all are good & work well together! Hope to hear from you all! Thank’s
I had the privilage of being sound engineer for Mandrak for a year or so during the 80’s. Great muso’s , end even better guys. One of my favourite set of people who I have worked with. They should have had enormous success, sadly other less talented band had the success they deserved.
I most sincerely hope our paths cross again guys!
G’day.
Had the privilege of being a roadie for the band in the 80’s.
Fun times😎

Thanks for the kind words Dean. Hope I wasn’t too much trouble with the double kick drums…
Hey Steve… thanks for the reply mate… nice to hear from you brother!
Working with Mandrake was a fantastic time. Could not have asked for better.
Please pass on my best to George and Con. Love to know when and where the next gig is.

Remember seeing Mandrake for the 1st time as a 15 yearold .. They played at the school we were all from – Ashfield Boys High , after a talent quest day we had.
Then when old enough i got to enjoy watching them at the local pubs.
Its a shame you didnt become aussies legends as you deserved…but to support bands like Deep Purple is a dream come true in itself.
Thanks for my first introduction to good Aussie rock guys and i hope to see you playing somewhere someday again.
