About

From the muddy waters of western Sydney, BLACK LABEL was born.

The name is always synonymous with “top shelf”, “extra special blends” & that’s exactly what you get with this act being touted as Sydney’s hardest working rock band.

With their pumping selections of tight riffy guitar tunes, BLACK LABEL blend awesome high energy performances with master musicianship to create a big smooth sound & slick show. This has lead to a large and loyal fan base at their live shows throughout Australia.

As the band’s name suggests, BLACK LABEL is a rare mix of maturity and the ability to stick to ideals. This has led to a truly unique sound.

Hi Mark,

Radar is right to some degree about the name change.
We still perform in Australia as Black Label if we’re doing covers & originals such as at a bike show, but if we’re doing originals only it’s Lawless Breed.

P.S. How’s things?

Thanks for the clarification Steve, nice to hear from you. I was going to leave the Black Lable listing as it was anyway because this is a ‘history” site. I’ll just add a new listing for Lawless Breed.

Mate, things are pretty good, I hope they are the same at your place.

Did you know that the short listing I did on TMG on this site is the single most popular article on the site in terms of search traffic? That’s todays’ trivia for you!!

See you soon, Mark

Good to know people are still interested in TMG.
Yes, all things are great with us.
Methinks we’re due for a drink soon.
Whadya reckon?
Call me.

For the record, Black label is what we are here in AUSTRALIA, the official name of the band (we own the name) our trademark has been active since the 1990s despite the band kicking off on the central coast of NSW back in the 1980s.
Once we started releasing cds for sale,we decided to trademark the name.
LAWLESS BREED is the name we used when we toured Europe in 2008,as we don’t
have black label trademarked there.

Great to see that you are documenting it. Very interesting reading.I can remember watching bands like Bandanna,BB Strutt,Vagabonds and Mad Gorilla play round the western suburbs- I miss those days @ the Millperra Viking Tavern, The Sundowner,Liverpool Pubs etc.
Cheers M8.
